The good news is, I downloaded the ASCOM App for Windows and the mount moves without a problem. I downloaded the ASCOM driver as you suggested and it won't connect. It says its "connected" (see picture) but nothing moves. The Skywatcher driver works with my mount, at least that's what it said on the Skywatcher website where I got the driver. Every time I pick up my 7 plus the location services arrow lights up and compass calibration is using my location. This never works, even at high accuracy, it still is off by 90. Select ASCOM and then in the ASCOM Telescope Chooser, Celestron Telescope Driver, then set the properties. The app will tell you if the internal compass needs calibration. If you have your own copy installed, you can work on lab exercises at your own convenience, review or double-check your lab answers before quizzes, or just play around with it. If you have your own computer, you should consider installing it. You could also try using the ASCOM option. Stellarium is a free, open-source planetarium program available for download. It simply displays a list of mounts compatible with your having checked "Stellarium Directly Through a Serial Port"Īssuming that you have a Skywatcher/Synta/Celestron made mount one of the models listed might work. Stellarium does not "recognize" your mount.
